Organic Single Malt Whisky

Copenhagen Distillery

We co-founded Copenhagen’s first whisky distillery, building the brand and the distillery itself. In our search for the perfect location, we discovered an old waste treatment facility brimming with potential. Our vision was to transform this warehouse into a dynamic cultural hub that blends music, events, creative workspaces, and industrial production. Our goal was to create a multifunctional cultural house that accommodates and manages various activities throughout the day. Despite the mix of functions, the venue offers a cohesive experience—whether you come to work, hold a meeting, listen to music, enjoy a drink, or participate in an event.

A sustainable transformation

The design is not just about aesthetics; it’s about sustainability. It’s modular, flexible, and space-saving, utilizing high-quality materials where necessary. Our choice of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) was not just for its structural benefits but also for its environmental advantages. This decision echoes our dedication to responsible practices in our spirit production. The journey of transforming the building was not without its hurdles. Navigating regulations and maintaining full production during the renovation posed significant challenges. However, the project’s success is a testament to the power of a clear vision and collaborative effort. The transformation showcases the potential of repurposing buildings and demonstrates our team’s resilience and determination to create meaningful community spaces.
